About Hintwordo

Hintwordo is a fast, simple helper for five-letter word puzzles — and a place to play them. It's built to be the quickest way from "I'm stuck" to "I know what to try next", and to leave you knowing a few more words than before.

Hintwordo is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any other word game or puzzle publisher.

Where the words come from

• Word frequencies: wordfreq by Robyn Speer and contributors, data licensed CC BY-SA 4.0. Our derived word lists are shared under the same license.
• English word validity: the ENABLE word list (public domain).
• Spanish, French and German validity: checked against the LibreOffice Hunspell dictionaries (RLA-ES, Grammalecte, igerman98) while building the lists.
• Definitions: Wiktionary (CC BY-SA) via the Wikimedia REST API and the Free Dictionary API.
